Together, the non-ferrous metals are the structural backbone of the energy transition, from e-mobility and
renewables to heavy electricals and data infrastructure. Yet the metals industry is also among the most energyand
carbon-intensive in the world. We see that as an engineering challenge and a responsibility. Our vision is
to make every tonne of metal we produce a smarter, cleaner and more circular one, and to leave the
planet, the people and the economy stronger for it.
PLANET | Decarbonisation by design
We treat carbon as a product specification. Our roadmap is built on a rigorous GHG inventory (Scope 1, 2 and
3, GHG Protocol-aligned), product-level carbon footprints through life cycle assessment (ISO 14040/44, ISO
14067) and Environmental Product Declarations, and measurable emission-intensity reduction across our
copper and aluminium lines. The levers: furnace and melt-shop optimisation, waste-heat recovery, electrified
process heat, renewable power through green open access and captive solar, and a rising share of recycled-content metal. Both copper and aluminium can be recycled repeatedly without losing their essential
properties, so secondary metal is central to our strategy. Our ISO 14001 framework extends to water
stewardship, zero-liquid-discharge design, effluent control and zero-waste-to-landfill ambitions.
NATION | Urban mining and resource sovereignty
India’s electrification will multiply demand for copper and aluminium, while import dependence on ore,
concentrate and primary metal remains high. We are developing scrap and e-waste recovery pathways that convert end-of-life electronics, cables and industrial offcuts into quality-assured metal at home: urban mining at
industrial scale. It is Atmanirbhar Bharat expressed in metallurgy, in step with the National Critical Mineral
Mission, the E-Waste Management Rules and the EPR framework.
PEOPLE | A just transition, not just a green one
A circular metals economy is a jobs economy. We invest in EHS excellence, vocational skilling and local hiring in our plant communities, and aim to bring informal scrap collectors into safe, traceable and fairly paid value
chains. Our CSR portfolio is mapped to Schedule VII and the UN SDGs (3, 4, 8, 9, 12 and 13), with board-level
oversight and outcomes that are measured, not merely reported.
