What it says. The Prime Minister described “more made in India, more investment in India and more exports from India”. Make in India 2.0 covers 27 sectors. Reported figures: investment of about Rs 2.40 trillion under the incentive schemes through June 2026, production and sales above Rs 22.66 trillion, exports above Rs 15.20 trillion, and manufacturing value added growing 10.88% a year from FY23 to FY26. The next phase targets components, strategic materials and advanced technologies, including rare-earth magnets and speciality steel.
SMARTE view. This is the clearest signal we have had. A policy that names materials as the next phase has our product in its sights. Think of the first twelve years as building the house, and the next phase as wiring it.
